PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM
We offer beginner through advanced, children's pre-school to
adult classes for men and women. Classes are 45 minutes - 1
hour depending upon age of student, type of dance and
enrollment.
Creative Movement: Ages 2-4. This class is for young children to
begin to learn basic dance and to express themselves through
motion. Classes include stretching, singing and movement
games.
Pre-Ballet/Tap: Ages 3 1/2 - 5. Basic ballet and tap steps plus
singing and educational dance games.
Ballet: Ballet is the basis for all dance study. Classes begin with
barre work and include center work and jumps, technical
combinations across the floor, and variations danced to
classical music.
Pointe: Ballet danced on pointe or "toe" shoes for ballet
dancers with more advanced technique.
Jazz: Jazz is a fast-paced, dynamic style of dance to jazz and
up-beat modern music. Classes begin with isolations and
stretches, followed by progressions across the floor and
combinations in the center.
Tap: Tap is a dance of sounds and rhythms. Classes include
warm-up at the barre, basic steps, progressions across the floor
and combinations to modern, Broadway, swing and blues
music.
Lyrical: Lyrical is a flowing, inspirational style of jazz
incorporating elements of ballet, modern and jazz dance.
Class consists of stretching, progressions across the floor and
combinations that express emotion or tell a story.
Hip Hop: Hip hop is a style of jazz incorporating basic dance
steps with a high energy street style. Class includes a full
warm-up and stretch, breakdown of stylized moves and a
combination.
Private Classes: For individuals wanting to work on technique,
at the availability of the director. Students interested in private
lessons must obtain advance permission from the director.
ACTING/AUDITION CLASSES
Audition Class: The audition class is designed for individuals
who have had some acting classes and would like to learn the
proper way to audition. Classes are held on Saturday
afternoons.
Acting Class: Acting classes will be offered starting in October.
